How does your game fit the theme?
The game does 3 loops through three short levels, adding more obstacles each time. It was originally going to rotate around to look like a mobius strip but it was super obnoxious, haha.

creative puzzler! I enjoyed the incorperation of the theme into the narrative, nice work!

A good idea but I just couldn't really enjoy with the 1 second movement, it just felt unresponsive for me. Fit the loop theme great though!

Developer(+1)

Still, thanks for checking the game out!

A+ for creativity on this one! It took a bit to get used to the choppy movement, but once I got the hang of it, I started enjoying it. I found it a bit hard to see obstacles coming due to the overall dark aesthetic. I think some kind of contrast with the obstacles to make them stand out a bit would be helpful.

Good idea! I think it's a bit laggy in the browser for me. I loved the music.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, it's a shame it's especially laggy in some browsers for some reason. Maybe something with the current version of 3D godot games, maybe something I did or didn't do while programming or exporting it. Still, thanks for checking it out and leaving a comment :)

Interesting premise :)) it does feel pretty laggy though, good idea overall!

Nice concept, the laggyness kinda threw me off in the start but overall it’s pretty cool!

While the camera was really low and made actually seeing the obstacles in time difficult, I really enjoyed the gameplay loop. Planning a pathway through the level, gauging whether you should commit to a jump and swapping between weapons to make it through was a lot of fun. The low frame rate gameplay was an honestly fresh take, felt like I was playing an old stop motion video on YouTube back in the day. Was a good time had.

Thanks! That decision making pressure is exactly what I was going for! As for the low frame rate, that's a great glass half-full way of looking at it, haha. I was considering making the objects transparent when they got close to the camera, but I read that can be very computationally expensive (making it run maybe even slower on web) so I left it out. Thanks again, I'm glad you had fun!

loved the music, the loop is satisfying to play

Nice! Love the divine emotional music in the background, haha. The gameplay was interesting to me, but I unfortunately suffered from intense lag despite my best attempts at overcoming it and enjoying the game for what it is.

The lag made it a little challenging to traverse very far, and I wish I got to see more parts of the game (I only made it to 2). From what I saw, I did enjoy the gameplay and found the game to be pretty fun.

Hope you find a way to fix this issue. The game idea has a ton of potential, and I'm glad you submitted to the GMTK jam this year - good luck on your submission!

Developer

Thank you! I'm really glad people like the concept and are trying to play despite the low framerate. It seems to run fine on some browsers/setups, but the FPS totally tanks on others (like mine runs fine on firefox but bad on chrome). I don't know if it's a godot thing, or something I did or didn't do when exporting, but it's definitely something I'll try and figure out for next time. Thanks again, very nice of you for attempting to play anyways!

A little laggy for me, but I dig the art and progression of this! Really nice!

I really really like the art style for this game. It kind of reminds me of Legos. I think there's a lot of potential to expand this game more later!

wow, amazing! very nice job!

Really cool concept, could be a bit faster, I live the visuals!

Submitted(+1)

Nice concept and visuals! I wasn't sure how to use the items or what they did. Even with that I still managed to beat a lot of levels :)

Congrats on finishing the jam!

what stood out the most to me were offering any options, let alone accessibility options! Nice one

Developer

Thank you! I had a friend playtest it and suggested I add a readable font, just in case some people found it difficult to read the gothic pixel font I chose. I was a bit hesitant at first since I hadn't set up a font-switching system like that before, but I'm glad I figured it out in time!

I enjoyed the idea it feels like an old arcade game! Just gonna echo every other comment when I say its verry choppy.

故事和视觉效果真的很有趣——我喜欢质朴的艺术风格。我不确定这种断断续续的动画是否是故意的,但它确实对体验产生了轻微的影响。尽管如此,总体上还是相当令人印象深刻的。

Nice concept, but it ran very slow on browser

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I agree, it really struggles on chrome (and maybe a couple other browsers) for some reason. Maybe its because of something with hardware acceleration? I figured that updating every second instead of relying on frames would at least make it playable. Anyways, thanks again!

Good shi mac, love the aesthetic. Needs SPEEEED BOOST button for the pros (me)

Developer

Thanks buddy :)

Don't tell anyone but there is a secret special speedboost button - if you press 'enter' it will actually move a step forwards. If you go too fast there's a chance it will crash though haha

Interesting idea! Additionally, I think it might be more interesting to make the game animation more rhythmic in its presentation.

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I had the idea cross my mind to make it more like a rhythm game too. I'll keep it in mind for the future!
