How does your game fit the theme?
The level loops horizontally like Kid Icarus, so you can pass through the right to come out the left side and vice versa.

Every asset is my own. I drew all the pixel art myself and did all the voice acting/sound effect with my mic and my mouth.

A good first project! Well done on the artwork.
I mean, the Audio was kind of machinary, Artwork was great and the gameplay was pretty enjoyable.
Really love the pixel art! The capsule art is also lovely. Great work, I had fun :)
Really nice Game love the artstyle!
Badass first game lowkey...
I like the limited color palette and the art, especially the up and down aerial shooting sprites. And badass ending art
A few areas without walls made the looping seem one tile off which was a little jarring but the looping itself was very smooth
A couple gamefeel opinions too if you want, I would have reset the shooting to neutral without up or down held, and imo it was a little floaty on the downward arc of the jump
A better game than Kid Icarus already
Glad you liked it!!
On the gamefeel front; a lot of it was an intentional homage to/cribbing from Cave Story, which has a somewhat floaty jump and nearly identical aiming behavior. They're nostalgic to me so I included them even though they might be slightly idiosyncratic choices.
Overall I liked it. I managed to get soft locked way at the top but it was worth the journey. I liked the way you fit the theme with the looping on the sides of the level, the art was fantastic and the music was a great choice even if not original
Ack! A lot of people have gotten stuck in that same spot. It was never a problem during my playtesting, but now I really wish I had caught it.
Nice mechanics and good balance!
UPD: Oh, and I love the style!
Thank you! :)
I'm happy you liked it!
