Well, that was unexpected spell drawback. We consider fixing it :)
Thanks for playing!
Beautiful and well-made game overall, and I really enjoyed it. Surprisingly, the early levels felt harder than the later ones. Tiles that clearly blocked building or hinted at a single solution helped a lot. Because of that, the final level felt smoothly flowing, and that was satisfying. The main thing I missed was a quick restart button, instead of having to go through the menu and toggle the view again. With a few quality-of-life additions this would be a near-perfect experience.
Also it reminds me of the classic Minesweeper :)
Wow, great game! I ran into a bug a couple of times after trying to buy something when the money would disappear and I couldn’t do anything. But luckily, refreshing the shop fixed it.
The idea is awesome, and I really liked the concept of placing tiles with a random set of buildings. Everything is really well done. I’d happily play a bigger version of this!
The art style is fantastic and overall idea is interesting.
I won’t go into the bugs, but it would be great to have more control — like choosing the direction of the shot, picking which projectile to launch, or even choosing not to launch some of them. The fire one is cool, but since it destroys your other projectiles, it often makes levels too long to complete (or even impossible) especially when its route doesn’t reach an enemy standing in a corner. Maybe that corner placement is a bug and will get fixed, but still.
Other than that, the game is great, and the variety is super impressive given the short development time.
UPD. Oh, just saw the part about re-firing shots! Considering that mechanic it would be helpful to have a way to influence the projectile’s direction after launch
Retro-shooter rogue-like is a pretty unusual gameplay compared not only to other jam entries, but to other games of that genres. It would like to have more polish, and it feels like a lot more content was originally planned. Right now, it feels like you either have to grind a lot or find loopholes to progress. Still, the graphics and style are awesome!
(Picking the shotgun at the start definitely was a mistake, the revolver is the best)
A very pleasant and well-made game. It would probably be easier to use the tile catalog if they were sorted by type, and if there were a bit more time to figure out what they do and how they interact. But overall, great game, I really enjoyed it!
(Just one more turn was needed to beat it in 3 eras btw)
