How does your game fit the theme?
The player character is depressed and is living the same day over and over in a loop. The player has to work towards cleaning their house to break free from this loop. The player also has to build habits and stick to them, thus doing them in a loop.

nice implimentation of the theme, I did encounter one bug where I got stuck inside the guitar and couldnt move, but either way very solid game!

Lol it's on purpose you are meant to be stuck when playing the guitar. Originally you were supposed to be playing a guitar animation but there wasn't enough time to add that.

I don't know how to empty trash but its really fun all around. Nice take on the theme too. It's like groundhog day! lol

Cleaning up increases your determination everyday which is how you win.
Cleaning is also supposed to decrease the amount of trash in your house, however because of a bug it just doesn't lol.

One of those simple to fix gamejam bugs that you just don't notice until after you submitted lol.

Surprisingly quite touching. It would of course be great if the trash bags worked correctly, but I can get the picture regardless. The guitar (and the habits mechanic as a whole) were really interesting, and I liked the literal limit on how much someone can get done. The overexposure and film grain really sold the feeling of being overwhelmed. Very impressive work!

The trash is actually supposed to get removed when you clean it, however there is a bug that just doesn't make it work lol.

Basically there is an event that triggers every time you eat, and that event is meant to increase the plates in the sink. However, due to an accident ALL of the task scripts are listening to this event lol, meaning that trash gets removed but then returns permanently whenever you eat lol.

I really like the guitar playing! This was a great use of the theme, and you could definetly flesh this out more after the jam and release it!

I like your concept, and would have loved to play a complete version of the game. I would have liked to be able to remove the trash when I use energy on it, but overall good job making this.

Yeah the trash is meant to be removed when you clean it but because of a bug it doesn't lol.

Basically there is an event that increases the amount of dishes when you eat, however this event is accidentally also placed on every single trash object so whenever you eat the trash increases and thus you cannot remove it lol.

Love the concept and narrative!  Small feedback on the level - perhaps I haven't made it far enough, but it would be great to have more visual feedback on tasks, e.g., taking out trash should make the room slightly more spacious (it seems doing the dishes does reduce the pile). But it can also be argued that this is exactly how depression feels (nothing you could do to make a difference). Either way, nice work!

It actually is meant to make it more spacious however there is a bug that prevents that.

Basically, because you need the dishes to increase every time you eat, you need to increase the amount of dishes in the sink task.

However the sink has a task script and accidentally all of the tasks are listening to the event that increases the dish amount.

So whenever you eat they increase their own trash aswell, meaning that so long as you are eating the room will not get more spacious lol.

So far the only realistic way to win is to get the determination ending.

Game glitched and I got stuck and couldn't move. Couldn't get a great grasp of what the game had to offer to be honest, but it seemed there was a lot of passion behind it.

Honestly, this was actually more moving than I expected. It felt good to finally start making more notable progress the later on I made it. Only issue I experienced gameplay-wise is that every time I wanted to use the guitar, I would end up stuck in place, which meant sometimes I had to reset the game due to being stuck.

I initially intended for a guitar playing animation but didn't have time so you are just stuck in place.

And I'm glad that the story moved you, though I didn't really expect it considering it was written in less than an hour.

By the way, have you seen the pictures? They are hidden in the trash and contain more story elements.

I had to replay it a bit, but I did indeed see them! I think it actually explains why I kept seeing text popping up about the character reminiscing about something, if I'm not mistaken.
EDIT: If the gameplay loop was in a sort of "permanent" manner, as in there was a more full story and you could work the way up to eventually fully cleaning the house or actually getting a lot of determination, this could be a really fascinating way to dive into something as serious as depression. Though, I do believe the slow nature of the gameplay and the ending you get is a good indicator that this game might be more impactful as a short experience that tells more through less, if that makes sense.
