411 place in the narrative?! Wow, I  honestly didnt expect to score so high. Thanks to everyone who rated and played the game, you're amazing!

I really enjoy escape room games, I had a lot of fun with the brain-teasing puzzles! It could use a bit more audio beyond the jump scare SFX, but overall, it was a great experience!

Submitted

Really enjoyed this one.

Art style works really well and some very clever puzzles.

Like others said, the initial jump scare really caught me off guard with how silent it was beforehand. A fabulous experience.

Super cool game! I love the vibe of the design! Well made 👏

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!

Great game! I love these type of games, I remember I even made a very similar game once in scratch, it had like exactly the same style lol.

But I still couldn't beat it yet, I am stuck on the books puzzle. I've just realised there are many pages in each book, which just confused me even more lol, so please, give me a hint😭

But so far, puzzles are very creative, interesting and unique. Very nice game, good job!

Also,  sounds would add a lot of immersion, like rain sounds or music, but the jam is very short so I understand.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it so far!

As for the hint: SPOILER FOR ANYONE WHO DIDN'T PLAY THE GAME:

the arrows and numbers symbolize what number and from which direction you need to take a certain something from certain books

I have a soft spot for puzzle games, but this brought back memories of old flash puzzle games!

The artwork is simple and gets the point across and also it took me sometime to get through the maze but I was satisfied finally finding the way out!

Also didn't expect the jumpscare!

Submitted(+1)

That audio jumpscare when I first opened the basement door really got me! The puzzles were super intuitive, with my favorite ones being the maze and owl puzzles! It would have still been helpful to have a hint system :)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Honestly I think that any hint would give away the answer to any of the puzzle presented here, hence why I didnt implement a hint system, but I understand why you would want that.

Your game was amazing too, to anyone reading this comment: make sure to check Loopy Time aswell!

This is really pretty! My tip would be not to worry if the music might be annoying. As long as you have an option to turn it off the music can add a lot to the game. Personally I didn't have time to add it to mine but if you have the time I would totally go for it.

Other than that this is a great game! Nice work!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

Developer

Yeah, you're probably right, but what's done is done.

Just checked out your game. You made a cute entry that I really enjoyed!

Submitted(+1)

Cool game! A bit silent tho.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I honestly thought about adding more music to it but I just couldn't find a right track (and I was also kinda worried if the music won't become annoying over time). Glad you liked it! Your game was nice too!

Really liked the game. Gave the old "flash escape game" type of atmosphere. It was fun understanding the puzzles with the few clues scattered in the cabin!

I didn't succeed navigating in the labyrinth, but it surely is something I didn't understand. I will certainly try again! :D

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Good luck with the labyrinth! I'll give you a small hint (SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO DIDN'T PLAY THE GAME: take a closer look at how each line is drawn. From which side does it come from one room and at which side does it arrive at the next?)

I enjoyed playing your game too, it was a fun little challenge. I'll definitely try to beat my high score later

good game i like the idea of dying and back

i think the puzzles hard

i hoped that it have sounds

good game

Developer

Hm... dying... yes, you could call it that. But the loop's cause is something more than just the simple finish line of every living organism we know and studied for centuries.

I like this game! The graphic design has its charmand the puzzles are super interesting!

Unfortunately I skipped tutorial text before the labyrinth and was lost in it. It's a pity that there are no saves in the game but it is a jam so not a problem. Will definitely try to complete this game a bit later.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed! Good luck with finding your way in the labirynth later!

I also played your game and I must say, it was quite something, definitely enjoyed it!

This was heaps of fun! I haven't played a point and click puzzle game like this in years so it was actually pretty nostalgic for me. Hit all the right notes for the genre. The puzzles were engaging, the story was interesting, I was worried it might be a bit shallow at first but after my first loop I realised the full scope of what I was playing

Developer

Thanks! I was also worried that the story might come out as a bit shallow (I made it in like 15minutes and wasn't quite sure if it's at least decent) but I'm glad you liked it!

I also played your game. You did an amazing job creating that charming skill-based submission, never stop creating and improving!

Submitted(+1)

Nice escape room you got there it was so much fun figuring out all those puzzles! Well done, pleasure to play it :3

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I also played your entry and I must say, it was amazing too :3

Very interesting game (positive), I just got fed up with the book puzzle due to the pages seemingly getting scrambled with the pages of other books when scrolling through them.

Developer

Oh, sorry to hear that. Must've omitted that bug, thanks for letting me know. I highly encourage you to keep playing and beat the whole game though. I'm sure you won't regret it if you're a fun of puzzles ;)

I think the owl is trying to tell me something

Submitted(+1)

Wow, that was a really good game. It's the best narrative that I found in the gamejam ! I really like the fact that you implemented multiple ending, I enjoyed doing both of them.

I really enjoy point&click/escape room game and this one is amazing. The puzzle were great and creative. Some were a bit hard for me, especially since english is not my primary language. Please continue to make game with puzzle, you have a great talent for it !

Really great game !!! <3

WARNING SPOIL PUZZLE BELOW

Some bugs that I found : the puzzle were i have to add time, i calculate 3h10 but it didn't work and i found that the solution in the game is 3h05. Is my calculation wrong or a problem in the game ? Another minor bug is at the end, when we can enter in the closet, if we decide to don't enter directly and explore the house, we can't go back inside after.

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

As for the puzzle you mentioned... yeah, it's unfortunately a bug. Must've accidently set the wrong solution and didn't realize it, the answer should indeed be what you said.

Your game was very nice to play too! I had a hard time at first trying to get used to the controls, but flying around was worth the hardship ;)

Meh it's just a small problem, not important, your game stay really amazing. One of the best that I played in this jam.

Thank you so much for playing my game too :)

I'm quite intrigued in my time playing it and I'm always down for an escape room, so well done making  some escape room puzzles ^^

Sadly I'm just a scaredy cat so the ominous nature of the game is a bit unsettling for me hahhhhh

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed solving the puzzles! Out of curiousity: did you find the courage to fully finish the game despite its atmosphere?

(+1)

not yettttt

are there any jumpscares?  Would like to know that on the outset. >w<

(Also I’m freakin really stuck at the books lol.  There’s too many letters)

Developer(+1)

No there aren't any jumpscares present in this game, that much I can tell you
