Nice puzzle game , unfortunately i was quite stuck on the anguish part, i'm afraid i'm not able to finished the game, however as far as i play, the puzzle was quite interactive and fun! i love the visual and explosion sfx when the bomb explodes XD. I also found a bug where the player can glitch out of the room itself? you can see the pic that i attach here, you might one to check that one out, otherwise it's a cool game, great job!
Thanks for playing the game. Sorry that you ran into this bug. Somehow this was not found during our testing. We will fix it post-jam.
Nice puzzle game the player get out of the room and can not get back in
Great puzzle game! The graphics are especially notable in this one and the sounds are nice as well.
The puzzles ranged from trivial (not a bad thing, kinda need to be in early levels) to "I don't understand." As a matter of fact, I still don't understand why the last puzzle has the solution it does but that's very possibly a personal failing lol.
The "identify the bomber" portion felt like it was just kind shoved into the game. Mechanically didn't fit very well.
But this really was fun to play! The time investment really shows!
Really unique puzzle game, had some interesting and challenging puzzles. The timer was perfect i think, added to the tension of a ticking time bomb and the puzzles were also designed to be solved in that amount of time. I liked the visuals on this, well done. Some high energy background track would have been great to add to the mood.. The controls were smooth and easy to follow, so right from the first room it was quite intuitive what to do. Overall, really well done!
Wow this is a spectacular effort for only 10 days, the 60 hours you put in paid off, awesome entry!! The presentation is top notch, you made marvelous use of the assets. Everything feels cohesive and each level has tons of detail and its own specific personality. Having to use the clues of the room to solve each puzzle is a very cool take on the theme. Having the each puzzle be part of an overarching detective work with a guess who minigame at the end was great game design and a perfect way to wrap up the experience. The hand drawn frames in between levels was a nice touch too.
The core puzzle mechanic was a good one, using context clues to solve the puzzles was a great premise and the way the clues appeared to the right of the screen as you found them worked very well. The ghost sound puzzle was my favorite and a fantastic example of how well the concept could work. Unfortunately, I found many of the other puzzles to be confusing and/or unsatisfying. I'm glad you provided a guide on the itch page because otherwise I wouldn't have finished the game. Kicking the soccer balls around was super fun, but I found it a bit odd that it didn't end in a 3 digit code like the rest of the levels. It was a nice change of pace but didn't fit the detective narrative very well. I also have no idea on the logic behind the last 2 puzzles (anguish and corners), and even after looking up the code I felt unsatisfied as I could not see any reasoning as to why they were the correct answers.
That being said, I had a great time playing your game. The visuals have tons of detail, are full of personality, and are impressively cohesive (I never would have known they were from assets if you didn't specify). The premise is a cool take on the theme and the detective lore and guess who minigame at the end was a fun touch. Sound design is on point and the ticking adds to the tension of the timer. Sick entry, and keep up the good work!!
Thank you so much for the very detailed feedback! These insights would certainly help us going a long way!
For the soccer puzzle, we wanted to add variety to the gameplay hence we introduced simple physics based puzzle.
Maybe for the last two levels, we could've written better clues which provide more clarity to solving the level. For the ANGUISH level we thought SUN ("... brings light" from the clue) was an easy answer. Also for the last puzzle counting the painted tiles from each corner felt intuitive to us as the clue says "... journey begins at corners." ("begins" = start counting)
Thanks again for appreciating the visuals!
The game was really enjoyable with satisfying visuals, well done!
Thank you for playing the game and appreciating the visuals!
I had a lot of fun solving the puzzles! They all seemed to have a nice difficulty tho I struggled with the last one @-@ Once I got the answer it kinda felt like it wasnt right. Love the art style, every room is so unique!
Sometimes the player character was sliding in a direction even when i wasnt moving myself and its super easy to glitch yourself out of bounds. Those are pretty minor issues tho.
Very impressive game submission! hope you make more :)
Thank you for playing the game.
Out of curiosity, what answer were you expecting in the last room?
Sorry that you encountered those bugs. We will look into those after the jam.
I managed to escape from the bomb using the TV!
The puzzles were a good mind teaser, but once I reached the Anguish level, I was unable to progress. I was thinking the code was gun, as you mentioned light, and I was thinking muzzle flash of a gun, so I resorted to watching your YouTube video to get past the later levels.
I realised you could spam the code even when outside, interacting with the bomb, so watching the continuous explosion was enjoyable as the art style was so well done.
The audio did get a bit tedious at times, so adding some music would have paired nicely with it. It would have been cool to hear the music ramp up in intensity as the bomb timer neared its end.
Overall, I had fun playing it. Great submission!
Thanks for your feedback. And for sharing the screenshot with us.
We were trying to emulate the bomb timer from CS:GO and the tension of a bomb ticking off.
Game music wound not have gone well with it. It might've drowned off the beeps that caused the tension in the game.
We will fix the other bugs after the jam is over.
Ok, I had fun figuring out the puzzles (although I checked the solution for the last bomb), the difficulty was just enough to make me think a bit (an maybe fail a bit too), but not hard enough to make me stuck. The "anguish" one was especially good. I think I encountered a bug in the football one. I failed, but the game moved on to the next level. Last puzzle was a nice way to end the game, even if it was a bit easy.
The graphics were cute. I liked the cop, the fixed camera angle, and the explosion! The sound could use a bit more attention. Some background music would be nice.
There is only one issue I have here. It's seven rooms, not one :) Like, I know that you are solving one room at the time, but I feel you could go with "one" in "one room" harder.
Over all- great puzzles and cool graphics! Keep it up!
Hey, Thanks a lot for your feedback!
Glad to know that you felt the puzzles were "just right".
Thank you for reporting the bug. In the football game, it might've happened that the football just touched the bomb when explosion occurred so the game took you to next level. We will investigate more and see what's the root cause.
The puzzles were really cool and I enjoyed the game. The sound however was annoying mildly.
Otherwise, very very good!
Thank you for playing the game!
Sorry to hear that the sound annoyed you. Since there is a bomb ticking in the room, we thought this sound would create a sort of tension. Lol!
I can’t actually remember what the exact sound was but I don’t believe it was the ticking. I’ll take a look tmr and let you know 🤙
That would help us greatly if you can have a look!
Playtested again and realised that the sucess sound was too high pitch for my comfort. May be a personal preference - not sure.
But the game is very good nonetheless.
Pros: Nice idea, good graphics.
Cons: The player moves too fast; I'd prefer a slightly slower pace. I don't know if this is a game issue or a technical glitch in the first level. Should I count only the green shapes or the furniture as well? I counted the shapes, but I wasn't successful.
Thanks for giving the game a shot!
Since the time is rather limited to diffuse the bomb, we purposely made the detective move a bit fast so that the time wont be wasted in moving around. Sorry that you felt it too fast.
Also in the green shapes puzzle room, the clue indicates the shapes, which are drawn on the wall, rather than furniture. In this room, as written in the clue on the sticky note on the floor, the count of each shape painted on the wall is important and leads to combination. If you get time, please have one more look :)
Look interesting but the game have loading ishu
Sorry to hear that you encountered loading issue. Can you tell me more what issue you faced? Like did it get stuck on the load screen? Did the web build simply not load? There is also a downloadable version for Windows.
