My spider got stuck too a little after getting the climbing ability and I never got to find out what the scientist can do to help :(

The concept of a small spider working together with a big human in different perspectives really is neat and from other comments, it sounds like the power ups were really well done if you did not get stuck. A random thing I noticed though is that for some reason my slow GPU goes up to 100% when I am the spider, but is barely used at all when I am the scientist. At least I could swap back and forth to keep my computer from over heating.

Hope you are able to find why the spider gets stuck.

This is a really clever platformer style game, had fun playing it! The spider platforming was fun, and unlocking the different movements felt good. There were a few places where the controls for the spider felt a little clunky especially jumping on slopes etc. and one part where i got stuck was after unlocking the wall jump, i just couldnt go up.

The artstyle was charming and i absolutely loved the little spider character :D I liked the music and the sound effects also fit well.

Its a really good entry and you can build it up to something bigger definitely has a lot of potential, well done!

This is a super fun idea for a metroidvania style of game. A pleasure to experience this in a game jam!

I appreciate the fact that you're forced to use each upgrade soon after acquiring them. The swimming felt like an afterthought, though. The other upgrades got used again near the end but the swimming didn't and it was mechanically no different from climbing. Something else in its place would really add a lot to this game. Maybe some kind of breakable block upgrade which is used again during the boss battle, as one example.

The dark tunnels were a great idea and fantastic use of the "switching bodies" mechanic. But maybe a little too dark. It felt at times like I could barely even see myself, let alone where I was going. Making the available light a little more would still force you to rely on the scientist without just being frustrating.

The boss was executed really well, too! Maybe a tiny bit on the side of too fast but no real complaints about it besides that.

I am thoroughly impressed with making a game in this genre for the jam. Great job!

A great team effort. Initially, I must admit, I thought the human’s abilities were extremely limited, but when I reached the part where everything goes dark, he became essential for guiding the spider through the maze you created.

The map design really turned out interesting, and I imagine it took a lot of work to make something on this scale, especially since the collisions would need to be carefully adjusted for both the human and the spider.

I understand your idea of “one room,” but I think it would fit even better if the ant nest the spider is invading were a box placed by the scientist, as if it were an experiment to see how the ants are behaving, how they’re reproducing, etc.

The sound effects and music are quite pleasant, although I think the music was a bit too intense for the situation, which might break the tension for some players. I really liked the detail of the spider’s eye following the direction we’re heading—it gave her a really cool touch of life. The way you designed the levels and distributed the powers was also effective, as the paths connected well, and it was easy to tell when we needed a new power or not. Plus, all of them were really creative and fit the spider perfectly.

The only major issue I encountered while playing was with the final boss. When I reached it, the spider just started falling endlessly. It’s a shame that this bug happened because I was really curious to see how the battle would play out (I even tried a few more times, but the same thing kept happening. It was as if the floor or the boss didn’t have the proper collision to support the spider).

But despite that, it was a fun game overall. Congratulations on the project, and I wish you the best of luck in the jam!

Really cool concept and overall game! It was fun to play! Nice to see another Scratch developer in the jam :) The only problem I had was that in the boss fight I jumped out of the web and I couldn’t go back into the web. So I couldn’t beat the game :/

Very cool way to let the player use two characters which feel kinda similar but have their own actions to perform. Being able to see the perspective change and remained off the level really makes you want to finish it. It could be a bit more balanced with the human having more actions early but it balances out in the boss fight. I did have some trouble with the wall jump mechanic of the spider at the start but besides that I really enjoyed the game!

Liked the concept — having two characters and switching between them worked well. Playing as the spider was fun :) Only thing: the music was really loud, could be a bit quieter. Otherwise, a good game!

this is pretty neat, especially for a game made in scratch. i don't know if any of my feedback will be applicable for scratch, but I still wanna share!
for one it would have been nice to have a fullscreen option, as I think it's easier on the eyes! also, the music is nice but after playing for a while it starts to get a little heavy on the ears. so it would be cool to have multiple tracks or a cleaner loop. the idea of the game is cool, but i also want some context behind it. like, where are they located? is it just out in the open on some random ant nest?  is it one room for the spider, technically?
for the graphics, theres a simple pixel look but the scientist kinda seems fuzzier compared to the other art aspects of the game, so it creates a look of being unbalanced
overall, nice game and goodluck on your entry :D

hi! thanks for the feedback! i had no idea there was no fullscreen button, i will see if i'm allowed to fix that. i was originally planning on adding a begining cutscene, but i didn't have the time for that. the scientist looking fuzzy is because of scratch, i had to do that because else the scientist would not be able to go offscreen!
