Very nicely done game, i don't think there is much to say here, art and sound is good and the theme and limitation are respected πŸ’― my only critique is that the game lacks a bit of originality, it's litterally one of those knife mobile games. I do think the level progressin system is interesting.

Overall good job on your first jam. Keep up the good work! πŸ‘

Very nice submission. Simple but interesting and got me hook as soon as I figured out how to play. I also liked the menus a lot :)

Good job! This is a simple game that is easy to jump into and is pretty fun. Good use of shapes for gameplay and UI and it does well sticking to the theme. I was able to make it through all 15 levels and have some feedback.

The replay button after loosing is great, but it is a little weird to go back 1 level as a result. It breaks the flow of the game a little bit having to retry a prior level to redo where you messed up.

Overall the UI experience is pretty smooth, but you can click the replay button multiple times while the animation to go back to the level is playing. Ultimately this doesn't ruin the gameplay experience, but is one of those bits of polish that can make games feel better.

Now for some feedback on the gameplay. It was a little disappointing how much I felt like I could cheese thing by spamming left click. Some levels could be completed by this alone. Most of the other levels would get me down to two or three circles left by the time the pentagon made a full revolution. I think a simple solution that could help with this would be to include circles that are already on the pentagon for some levels and reduce the number of circles you need to shoot. This way you can't just start levels by spamming left click until the pentagon finishes a full revolution. Even just adding one or two circles can force the player to think a bit more before firing off their first circle.

Again, great job. I had fun playing!

I got to level 9 after being stuck on 8 for a while. Hehe. It's a good game depending on click speed and rotation. That's a really lovely concept! πŸ˜Š

Nice!! I remember playing a game like this called Knife Hit back as a little kid... super cool to see a game like it in this game. It's a spectacular choice for the theme: it satisfies the limited shape condition + limited space theme both perfectly!

The gameplay is smooth and intuitive. While simple, it's quite easy to understand and equally as fun. High marks on gameplay :)

The audio and art is also quite well done. It fits the game's vibe and is polished and consistent.

Everything fits together really nicely l and the game overall excels in pretty much all categories. I don't have much to say in terms of feedback - really well done!

You absolutely nailed the game feel on this one 10/10 for sure!! The artstyle and palette chosen are also beautiful and the animations look really pleasing. I especially loved the background of the main game.. just pentagons, but layered nicely! The gameplay also is quite fun and challenging as it progresses.. i could get to 8 but not past that!

The implementation of the theme is definitely there and youve used the given shapes cleverly to create nice effects(even the menu screen!)

The only issue i have is with the lack of variation in gameplay.. I know you have some patterns for the turning pentagons, but i feel that there could be more. Nevertheless, its a great entry for sure, and for a first time jam game, very very impressive!! Awesome work :)

First of all, I want to congratulate you on your first game jam! It must have been a really rewarding and valuable experience in your journey as a developer. Now, let's dive into the review!

Right off the bat, I really liked the game and its concept. It’s simple, but well-executed and fun. The challenges are just the right amount to keep it from being frustrating, but also not so easy that it becomes boring.

In the menu, it was a great idea to design icons using just circles, but you could have made the initial navigation experience a bit clearer by adding small hover-over text on the buttons to indicate what each one does. I know the icons themselves already give a pretty good hint of their functions, but a little extra explanation in a subtle way is always a nice touch.

During the gameplay, I stayed engaged throughout the whole experience. However, one thing that frustrated me a bit at times was going back to the previous level after losing. I imagine this was intentional to increase difficulty and extend the challenge, but for players who had to make several attempts to pass a tough level, only to lose on the next level and then go back to the one they struggled with, it could be demotivating. It might feel discouraging to revisit a level that was already hard to beat.

As for the theme, I think it was followed really well, and the sound effects were fantastic—they really added to the experience. Congratulations again on your first project for a jam, and best of luck!

I'm really surprised how well your game look !!  it's so polished  , Especially the main menu .. not just that but sfx and music is just perfect !!

the idea is not completly new .. but Making the pentagons rotate at different speedsadd some variety to the game ...

over all  I loved the game

I'm seriously impressed with this, there aren't many comments I can give. It ticks all the boxes for me, you get the player actually doing stuff very quickly, which I appreciate. Transitions are slick, the VFX makes the simple gameplay shine. The player immediately knows what they are doing, it is easy to see how the concept can be used creatively, and then you deliver on it. Even the difficulty is well tuned for a jam! The way the menu works is also very cool. Honestly can't really find any negatives here, you had an idea and you executed it.

Wow, thank you so much! My primary goal was to make sure the game was easy for the player to pick up and play, so I'm glad that came across as well as it did. Your feedback made my day!

Hey Silenceplease, you did (especially considering that this is your first jam game) an amazing job here! It's a simple but well thought out concept with minimalistic but nicely fitting visuals and a nice soundtrack that supports the gameplay without distracting. It's just overall a good game (That I unfortunately am very bad at :D ).

Only thing I could criticise - when restarting you get set back one level. This feels frustrating because I'm bad.

Great job :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Honestly I was not sure how to handle the level system, whether to have lives or to have the player start from the beginning, so I kind of settled on this middle ground. Thank you for playing and rating!

That was frustrating, addictive, and fun! I like simple, interesting, and effective concepts. The style is minimalistic but consistent and with good taste. Great job.

I appreciate the kind feedback! I thought to go super simple especially for a jam like this so I'm glad you enjoyed it.  Thanks for playing!

This game is seriously polished, the menus, graphics and effects all look great ( i liked the particles on hitting the pentagon) and the sound design was great. There isnt much to fault to be honest, it was a good experience. i especially appreciated the fact that losing only set me back one level, and not all the way to the start. gg !

Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it! I was originally going to make the player start from the beginning but then I decided to have mercy on the players' sanity :D.  Thanks for playing!
