It looks very pretty but I found the controls a little tricky. Overall I really enjoyed the gameplay but one minor thought; since everything else orbits, why not the bullets? The way it is now you have to get very close to the enemies to hit them, otherwise the bullets collide with the planet.

I really enjoyed playing this game; it was right up my alley. The controls and the goal were easy to understand, the enemies were engaging, and the mechanic of looping around the planetoid was fun. I also really enjoyed the music, because it fit the at times hectic gameplay very well, although I do wish there was fanfare when completing levels. The final boss was also neat.

What I do think could have been better was the art. I've seen a lot of cool things done with these limited shapes that I just didn't see here, and not just because you only used circles. I also think you should have given the 'enemies left' and 'health' counters a visual representation, like a progress bar made out of circles for the 'enemies left' counter. In addition, some simple flashes to show enemies take damage would go a long way.

All in all, great gameplay. Very enjoyable.

I really like the design of the characters and world using only circles! Also nice job adding a boss fight with some cool mechanics. I liked how the enemies got more difficult as the game progressed, but it would be great if the player got some power ups as well to make the gameplay more interesting. Nice job with this game!

cool and fun game !!!

sfx and music were very good , and the visuals is kind unique .. you used the shapes limitations so well

the game fits well with the given theme

but the game is a littile bit hard .. also I think adding screen sheak or changing the player color to different color when taking damage would be nice ..

anyway a really well made game feel great to play !!

Fun! I did find it a bit hard, you lose health very fast and I didn't manage to finish the game. I use an azerty keyboard so the buttons didn't work for me, but you DID make arrow keys available as well. Thank you! Kudos! โค๏ธ The shooter shape was allowed for character? I guess it's still 5 stars on theme than! ^^ ๐Ÿ‘ŒYay! Vector art! <3

Quite fun and really well made for a scratch game! other comments have already pointed out my suggestions for the game so i'm not gonna reiterate it.

Nice game but the game isn't kind to players in the beginning of the game, I don't have a mouse I was using my laptop's touch pad and it was hard to shoot and dodge at the same time. Maybe keep the mobs slow the first few mins and increase their speed gradually.....then even players like me will also be able to play and won't be able to complain........

Also please rate my game if you get the time. Thanks in advance for your support!

Developer

thanks for the feedback! this game was actually fully created and tested on a laptop, so that shouldn't be the problem. i was still tweaking this games difficulty very late in development, so i might have made it a bit too hard. i'm currently working on a updated version which will have an easy difficulty.

neat arcadey game! nice amount of difficulty, and it felt pretty fair. I would recommend making the default cursor invisible. Oh, and there was some lag when I played it, but that might just be because I'm playing it on browser.

It has the potential to be a real good game !

Maybe you can add a little camera shake on enemy hit, a bounce back of the enemy, a flash to blank of their color, plus a color change after for their health decreasing. At first time I did not now I inflict damage to them.

This was really fun and cute! i liked the enemy designs and the colour palettes for the different planets. i didnt really feel the need to go to the underside of the planet, until those yellow bouncy guys showed up lol. the music was nice and fit with the game well.

the visuals are really polished, but it think some particles or sound effects could really take this game to the next level. gg.

Nice idea, and the visuals are really creative. The music makes me want to play geometry dash again haha. The only feedback I have is that the gameplay feels a little repetitive with the amount of enemies you have to kill. But still, I had a good time!

Nice job, @-kippie-! Glad to have you join me for this Goedware Jam and I had a blast playing your game. Awesome to have a couple Scratch entries in the mix here :)

I'm going to start with what I liked. For one, I think you implemented both the shape limitation and the limited space theme extremely well. The world and gameplay feels rich and unique, even though it's composed solely of circles. The whole gameplay and mechanics perfectly encompass the "Limited Space" prompt.

I also enjoyed the music + sound effects - nice choices.

One thing I found difficult was the controls. As mentioned by other people below, the WASD doesn't quite synchronize well with a circular planet and the inversion when you are upside down.

If you're planning on continuing work, I'd recommend adding more small animations and particles, which would make the player experience feel more polished. In particular, an enemy death animation would be cool. I understand niche adjustments like these can often be overlooked in a jam as short as this one, but still - I'd recommend it.

Overall, I had a ton of fun rating, and I wish you luck for the results! You did a great job interpreting the theme and working around the shape constraint.

Developer

thanks! i'm currently working on an updated version which i will share on scratch, which will have a setting that will hopefully make the controls a bit easier. i'll also defintely add some polish.

cool idea and well executed, however as someone has already commented the wasd control doesn't work well in a circular world. The easiest way i can think of improving it would be to make the camera rotate with the player at least so the player is never upside down . All in all, good game

Submitted

The game is great but it would be even better if you added knockback when hitting an enemy.

Submitted

This is a nice idea and good interpretation of the theme as well. I think adding visual and audio feedback on just a few actions like shooting bullets, hitting bullets, enemy dying and enemy hitting the player would do wonders to the overall feel of the game! Another suggestion would be on the controls - I understand since its a circle that itself presents a challenge because the direction changes continuously, but it felt a bit confusing when for example you are at the bottom and you press left, the character moves right.. I cant think of a solution to this problem, but something you can think of when you are revisiting the game! Overall a good attempt though, well done :)

Developer

thanks! i did think of trying to rotate the camera, but that didn't really fit the game in my opinion.

You must reduce the number of enemies.

Submitted

Needs a lot of visual feedback, but otherwise it's cute and is a cool idea! Really fits the "limited shapes" aesthetic, you've done a lot with a little and I love that. Enemies need to flash when they get hit, I want a much faster fire rate, everything should give and receive knock-back, and honestly I'd prefer lives instead of health!

The biggest issue, however, is the controls. WASD on a circular planet doesn't work, as the controls essentially become inverted on the bottom of the circle. This leads to me staying up at the top where I can intuitively understand how to move my guy!

Good try the cicircles  over lap and look like other shapes

Developer

i have asked Goedware if it was allowed, and it was, because they are still clearly circles.
