Awesome game! I've actually played it on the phone lol. Just wanted to take a quick look first, but got immediately addicted by the challenging gameplay. And almost beat it? Not sure - no shift on the phone. Loved the ambient sound and minimalist visuals, too. The transition animation is amazing. Fantastic experience!
Really cool game. I especially like the frog character and his froggy movement. This adds a lot of charme to the experience. The visuals are great overall, love the cover art. The only thing that didn't chime too well with me was the music track, although one could say that it mirrors the experience of being held captive in a loop on a musical level. So , there's something to that as well. Great game!
Very clever game. It really is a similar concept as mine as you've mentioned. However, yours is much more built out with more mechanics. I especially like the hearts as a lowkey bonus incentive to solve some additional puzzles. The only thing that was kinda irritating to me was how fast the last level was cleared by leaving the screen to the left. Very fun experience overall!
I like the concept and the art is charming. However, personally I found it a bit too slow and not interactive enough. The battle scenes should in my mind be much faster, since you cannot do anything in that phase. And even if you know the pattern, that the enemies will arrive in, it seemed almost impossible to come up with a strategy, since the timing of enemy hit / player strike is hard to pin down. Still, very original concept and neat narrative framework.
I love the hand-drawn art and the real world haptical feel of the paper and the surroundings. Really charming and fun!
One suggestion would be to change pencils on the right mouse button. Since it's only the two of them, it would be easy to switch back and forth. And it felt a bit too slow to get the marker in time for the faster intruders. (Slight immersion cost though, I guess)
It took me some time to get the controls right. But I love the art, the enemy variety and the power up system. It feels perhaps a bit weird that the main problem becomes not to kill enemies too early. Most of the time I ran away from enemies, so they don't get hurt haha. But that's a fun twist on the genre for sure
