Making the camera move with the mouse is a great idea, I don't know how I didn't think of that.

I wanted to do more bullet types but we decided to spend our time balancing the levels we had instead of making new content. It probably was too dark in some areas, but the vast improvement the lighting gave to the look of the game made that worth it to me. Thanks for the feedback and the response, I appreciate that.
Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words! I totally get the readability during combat, its a tough balance and I will work to improve on that.
About the theme: I interpreted "loop" as the mechanic of having to retrieve and reuse the same bullets over and over, which creates a gameplay loop where your shots aren’t disposable. I know it’s not a literal time loop or anything, but I felt it fit in a different way. Glad you had fun either way!
Loved the vibe and a really cool design. I felt like the game was very slow paced, it would be cool if I could fire faster and move faster. It needed a little more intensity. My major problem was that I didn't have an incentive to use the cool orbit mechanic. It was cool looking and neat, but my strategy often became to just stay up close to enemies not using that mechanic. I think that giving a reason to orbit things could help, but would I would LOVE is if the game was super fast and intense so things were flying around the planet like crazy right at the start. It would force you to dodge your own bullets if it is likely to miss. This could be a super awesome arcade game with a little more work!!!
The visuals were super cool, and the game was very juicy and nice in that respect! Audio would've been so huge. The video titles were hilarious as well. It was tough for me to see the connection between the gameplay and the video stuff, so maybe changing the UI somehow could make that better? Great work overall!
Cool game! I think the platforming was a little slow and could've been more forgiving, especially because you are going through the same levels things being faster could be cool. It also got repetitive kinda fast, some more variety between the levels besides the door positions would've been awesome. I think a goal would've helped as well, because collecting the body parts felt pointless at a point. awesome art and cool concept!
I thought the concept was cool and the level design was very well done. I think that the spirit was difficult to dodge in ways that were frustrating, where often times I would get stuck. I think if the controller was smaller, faster, and more forgiving some of the levels would've worked a lot better. Really well done idea and levels though, I had fun!
Really nice arcade style game! I found the throwing mechanic was tough to control so I ended up just always making my loop as big as possible and just running into the outlaw people. I thought the strategy aspect of choosing between cows and capturing the outlaws was cool, but needed a little balance because I only ever thought it was worth it to capture. Great work and very fun!
I really liked the puzzle design, I thought it was simple and clever. The UI was a bit difficult to work with, it would be nice to see the thing physically being held by my cursor and maybe having some audio/visual feedback when I pick stuff up and drop it. I think your design was really great though, awesome work!
Tough games definitely have an appeal, but my thought process is that you want game jam games to be very accessible so everyone can experience all the work you put into your game. Again that's just my opinion, some people love rage games, but that would be my major piece of feedback. I try to always make things easy to beat so people can see all my design very quickly. The levels in your game were super well executed and I wish I could see them all!!
I think the idea of scaling items up and down as a puzzle game is pretty neat! For me, the most difficult/frustrating part of the game was the timing of taking things out of the scale boxes (I'm not sure what they are meant to be) at the correct time. I think it could be better to give the player more control here, as the actual interesting part of the game is the math puzzle part of it to get the ratios correct. Maybe to add that timing aspect back in you could incorporate the diner-dash action stuff that was suggested in the comments earlier. I think that could make a big improvement. Otherwise I think with some more visual polish and working out some bugs I encountered this is a great entry! Nice work!
Really cool idea! I think this game would be most fun when you are moving fast quickly dodging and reacting to the notes, but like others have pointed out, this is hard due to the camera. I also think that the gameplay feels almost separate from the theming? It really felt like this was going to have to do something with rhythm going in, and honestly, I think incorporating rhythm elements would really improve the feel of the game and add a ton of depth. Overall, great work, especially on that doodle style!
Really cool concept! The controls felt snappy and it was very easy to grasp. The timer was hard to see, so it often felt like I was just suddenly losing, but otherwise good work! Also how do you solve the Magnesium Sulfate one because I could not get it lol
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it. I didn't realize you had to follow the actual structure of the molecule.
