Have you tried refreshing the page and then redownloading the files? The first time I bought something it also didn't appear, maybe it's just not updated yet

I'm sorry but I've already joined up with another team a few hours ago

Hey, I'm primarialy a 2d pixel artist and could help with level design, interested in joining the team!

I've sent you a friend request on discord

Hallo, I'm The Ed, also known as Ed or Edo, I'm Italian, and I'm also looking for a team.

I would consider myself primarily a pixel artist, although I haven't  been in the game devving world much. This would be my third jam.

In the past i've worked primarily on top down JRPGS-like and I usually keep a low resolution, so I might not be great at higher resolution works or non top-down stuff, or I might, I don't know that yet.

In my previous jams I worked as a solo dev using RPGMaker, this would be my first time working with someone, and as such, I'd prefer to give the project a smaller scope/size.

In my previous jams my games got a very high story rating, so I can also act as a writer if needed and I know how to make mildly ok music if the need arises. I can also help with Gameplay design. I know next to nothing about coding, however.

My timezone is UTC+1, I'd prefer to work with people in closer timezones to mine, but it's not needed. I am roughly available to help with the jam 5/6 days a week.

Here you can see some of my previous works, and you can play most of them if you check my itch. account.

If you're interested, we can discuss further on discord DMs, I'm "edoardo.ve" (without quotation marks)

The character artworks looks nice, but for the gameplay, after entering the second room there was seemingly nothing I could do, and most of the reading options at the library did not work. Is the game plainly unfinished?

Is the plot that the main character is over anxious and constantly thinks the date is going to kill Her or am I misinterpreting?

Me witnessing horrors beyond my comprehension (I did not get it)

Would recommend, nice game

Nice game, although it does get repetitive pretty quickly, soon the images start to cycle and they appear so often that the scare factor disappears quickly after the first few levels

The other aspects were not bat at all!

If your still doing this I would love to get critiques on my game since this is only my second jam

Do not be afraid to hold back when commenting, but please read the page description because the web version has some small issues

Played yours, I liked it very much so, nice game

Peak, extremely well done, great, good, and many other congratulations, I like this very much

left a comment detailing some issues I had

I've had some issues with the game, on the first playthrough after getting the key at the start I started to explore the second floor and got closed in bathroom with seemingly no escape.

After starting a new run, I got the first diary in the music room on the second floor, went in the study with the upside down table, turned into day mode to get past it, but as I returned into night mode I clipped into the table and out of the window, falling out of the map and needing another restart.

Issues aside, the concept of jumping between day and night was interesting, although the place still felt a little bit too empty during daytime

Left my review, nice artstyle!

Very nice game, obviously great graphics, although I'm a little sad the story had to be cut.

I don't know if that's intended, but when transitioning from a place onto another on web the audio glitched out for me. Don't know if that is by design and/or also happens on download

I'm sorry, there is a problem with SFX audio in the web version where it is maxed out and has to be manually turned down in the settings.

As for the interact command, it was in the web page description

played your game, sadly my laptop wasn't running it too well so I couldn't leave a proper review

Left a comment, very nice gameplay!

Good gameplay, good sound design, good graphics, this is a great game overall!

I got stuck on night 3 as well though...

Yeah if i update the game After the jam Is over, a checkpoint system is one of the first things I'm planning, way less people than I expected used the save system

Nice platformer, left a comment with my thoughts on it

Felt like a solid framework for a good platfomer. It was a bit lacking in the graphics and music department, although I can totally get why since you mentioned being a solo developer.

Some chase sequences, like the medusa one that mix horror with gameplay tension could really shine if given a proper chance with better music and graphics.

I only managed to get to the third level (although I definitively would've gotten farther if there were proper controller support, I'm not too used on playing platformers on keyboard) because the rock falling section required inputs a little too precise.

I did manage to get past it twice, one time I fell into a pit right after, but the second time I got past it something funny happened: a rock still managed to crawl and fall down the ending of that section, so I just got hit by a boulder from off screen. Tried to record it but screen capture wasn't on. Was funny.

As for the rest of the game, with the enemies being essentially sitting ducks (up until the point I reached, anyway) I felt it would've made the combat more dynamic if the dash also dealt damage, or the base attack had longer reach.

That aside, nice game

Left my thoughts!

(1 edit)

Played through the game and got one ending, I thought the idea of the world changing as your sanity lowers was cool, but the choices you get after interacting with things feel underutilized

I think the lighting engine also bugged on me, the game was very bright and everything could be seen clearly even without the torch active, while the screenshots make the game seem darker

Clipped through the elevator the first time I went there tho

I am getting an unspecified error when trying to extract the zip for some reason. OS is Windows 11

Left a review, very fun dialogue!

Very funny and with lot of personality, although sadly a bit short and with extremely basic combat

Yes, the room in the picture is the one I got stuck in.

I'd say the most satisfying part of the game was exploring the various passages and finding more hidden areas as you got more powerups, similiar to how a metroidvania operates

Left a very extensive review leaving my thoughts

I have many issues with this game. Usually platformers have Ledge forgiveness, after the player stops being on a ledge there will be a few frames where their jump is still inputted, mostly because there is an extremely small window when a player makes a jump where their reaction times and then the input lag will both delay the jump by a very small amount. Ledge forgiveness usually eases this problem, but, seemingly, this game has none or has very small ledge forgiveness.

My experience with precise jumps was, therefore, poor, since ledges where effectively smaller than what they would normally appear in most platformers. This is especially notable in sections where you are in a platform, and have to jump on a platform that is directly above yours. On many other games you'd move right, press jump, jump, and then move left onto the platform. Here you instantly fall if you try to do so, so you have to jump and somehow instantly move right and then left, which is extremely annoying.

I collected the deception, randomness and perception power ups and headed on the platforms to the left, but the "maze" there is also very infuriating. The blocks are complete RNG and are not skill based unless I'm missing something.

After getting past that section there was another room with an unclear objective, but after failing a few times I got pretty annoyed and closed the game.

Also, there is an enemy at the start that doesn't seem to appear anywhere else?

I don't know if I missed something, since this game does seem to hide quite a few secrets, but as is I noticed these flaws

Played it and damn, is it good!

This game keeps oozing personality and charm, it's very well done, bravo!

Very impressive game, god damn!

Extremely impressive; great artsyle, great dialogue, great game, just great overall!

Rated your game! I think it's one of the bests

Great game, although some of the mechanics I'll admit feel a bit confusing; I died many a times on the second night because it was really hard to fully understand what you were supposed to do (It was unclear when you were supposed to watch the eyes since sometimes they can be covered by trees) and some things (spiders, cultists, skinwalkers) feel a little unresponsive (it's not really clear if/when you managed to get them away from you)

Aside from that, great game!

Loved the graphics, left a comment

Charming game, most comments already praise it, but the old school pixel graphics look really great. The sudden cutoff ending does take away a little from the enjoyment, I'm assuming time to develop the game ran out.

I don't think it's intended, but inside the barn you can apparently walk on the walls? Unless I'm misreading the sprites

Most SFXs are default/generic, but for the rest basically all of the graphics (except for font), "music" and background audio was made by me.

Rated the game and left you a comment!
