Hey everyone!

Not sure if people usually do this, but I’m super proud of my game and I’d love to get more feedback on it. It is a strategy+puzzle game.

And I'd like to play good games in this jam but I know there will be so many entries in this jam and it’s impossible to try them all… so why not we help each other out?

If you’re up for it, drop your game link here! I’ll do my best to play it, leave a review, and share a few thoughts.

And I’d really appreciate it if you could do the same for mine! ps: it would be nice you can left a comment in the game about some more details and suggestions... Thanks!

I’m mostly into strategy, simulation, and casual games,  and not so much into(or, well, not good at) action games, but I’m happy to try anything. I’ll mainly test web build games.

Let’s boost each other and enjoy the jam! Good luck everyone!

Played yours, here are some of my thoughts.
I like the idea of adjusting the amplify and frequency of the wave to match the target, and the synchronization meter is super helpful as I can't even tell if I'm close enough lol.
some suggestions I'm thinking:
1. maybe give it a level or something, and player need to get to certain points before x tryings, this way the game has a more clear target.
2. I'm not sure if there is a better way to do this but I feel currently it is hard to tell if the wave matches, especially at an early stage, and even when they overlap. So most of the time I'm just changing values up and down and see if I get luck lol.

This game is actually super fun !! Getting a board of a single color = satisfaying af ahah! A lot of time I forget about swap...
The only negative feedback I have is that every time I hover on a "powered up" tile, it hides my healt
Here's my game if you want to try it. Similar theme with the instruments :) https://woodoowooda.itch.io/echo-waves (don't forget to leave a review in 2h, i'll review yours for suuure! so fun!!)

Submitted

Hey thanks for playing the game(it would be nicer if you can leave your comment in game :P)
I tried your game, very interesting! remind me of the game called dark echo. Your game has more puzzle element and I like how you can interact with instrument and how you place the little classic puzzle in the game.
BUT! I got stuck on the beginning of level 6. it stuck at the beginning, I tried to clap but nothing happens :(...
I hope you get enough time to fix it before the end of the jam!
(and it might be a good idea to provide cheat button to skip levels, when things like this happens, so player has a way to skip broken levels.. if possible...)

Submitted (1 edit)

I will leave my comment on your game's page for sure! Thanks for the feedback on my game. I had cheat buttons coded, but decided to not include them in the final build, but maybe I could add them back for harder levels! Have you tried "R" to restart the level?
PS : I played my level 6 from itch and it works fine... I don't know how you got stuck... I hope no one else will :|

Submitted (1 edit)

no.. and I have refreshed the game page and the progress was gone :'(

soryy, saving progress using emscripten was out of scope for me haha :(

If you could write your comment again on my Game Off page that would be kind :) I opened the comments on the game and your discussion post seems to be gone @_@ Thanks !!  <3

done. weird it would gone.. that's a very silly bug/feature on itch..

I LOVE your games art style!

I actually played your game as the very first game somehow. And it was very cool, I honestly loved your art style, and the entire combination of mechanics! It also sounds very good!

Very interesting game. I liked the arcade type style and also quick suggestion make it a bit easier or add long time upgrades that make every run matter

Submitted

hhhhey again I'm sorry I can't play PC game now. I'll try to play it later. The game looks cool with the lighthouse and the vampire survival upgrades, I think maybe it can be a good fit for mobile game..? I love the art too.

Submitted

I fixed the HTML export. There was some translation bugs i had to hunt down and find.

Submitted (1 edit)

Went in and added my comments both to the game and the jam page. Sadly I cannot rate it unless a miracle happens and it appears on my queue.

But I really enjoyed it!

Our entry, RESOKILL.

heyy sorry I can't play pc game now, if you make a web build later let me know. though I'm terrible at fps too and get dizzy easily..I even would get dizzy if I watch the trail in full screen lol.
thanks for your warm comment though. I watched your game and I like the art style of it and I comment based on that.

Hello!! I have played your game and I think that it is a very interesting and captivating game! I love the cute color theme and graphics. It is definitely a unique way of interpreting the game theme!

Here is my submission :

https://chellezys.itch.io/tsunami-run

It is a very short and simple game (it's my first time making a game) I would be very glad to hear some feedbacks :)

Submitted

yeah it is a nice little game considering it's your first game. I like the wave chasing you lol.

I think to improve it, might consider to improve the control more. I'm not good at platformer game myself but I think you can find some tutorials to make the player move more comfortable!

good game!

Hi, loved your game. It was very cute. Really liked the game mechanics. I will rate it once it gets on my queue. Surely will be one of the best  in this jam.

My game is pretty short and in the prototype stage. Please let me know what you think about it.

Hey I like a dispatch game and I like the horror story behind it, but I get kind of stuck after the first time it opened the data base. I choosed the fog entity and submit it, then the dialogue disappear and I can't turn off the database page, or can I click anything else..

Please try my game too :

Hi!

your game was really well made and polished!

here is my submission, have fun: https://bryengx.itch.io/wave-of-elements

Ah I like the idea that elements can combined together and generate different skills. I hope there to be more skill upgrade and deploy after each battle.

Yes, I really enjoyed your game, I guess my comments are in the game page thread. Here is my submission.

Submitted

sorry I don't quite understand how to play the game... I placed each character it gave me and click submit, and it said invalid? I must missed something important to play this lol..

Submitted (1 edit)

As you place letters they need to spell a valid word.  Words must connect to other existing letters unless in the high tide mode.  A lot like traditional scrabble, though there are additional features that are valid as the game progresses.

Submitted

Ah I see. I never played scrabble before so I don't know the basic rules

Submitted

You just happened to be in my queue today, but I wanted to check out your game anyway! Check out my entry when you find the time :)

Submitted

haha this game is really hard for me I crashed repeatedly between a tentacle and a rock :'(
I do like that you can only move with adjust the angle, though sometimes I can't tell where the wind comes from...I just randomly adjust lol

Submitted

This game is basically cities skylines, but without the features, polish, and years of engineering that went into that game :)

Damm, that's a cool game. And really polished.

Loved your game, would love to rate it if it appears in my queue. Try out our entry if you get the chance! https://itch.freezing.top/jam/game-off-2025/rate/4085028

I like this game! I really like the windows simulation way to progress level and getting rewards. And I like that you have multiple strategies to select during the battle.  One thing I don't like is.. I didn't get that the rock paper scissor game at the beginning until I read the comment in game lol. Well I assume a better tutorial is suggested, and maybe some effect to show in the fight, when the two elements meet.  I feel more different type of enemies, and more different type of skills would be helpful too. When I finish a level and see all the same skills I lost my interest lol

The game do feel need more effect etc to make it more .. engaging? I don't know. But the idea is interest and I enjoyed it!

Submitted

Wow, this was really well made! It was so fun coming up with different synergies with upgrades! You are really good at game design! Almost everything about his game feels very thought-out! It is so satisfying to attack with a lot of tiles at once, and the upgrades were all very interesting! I especially liked that most of them could only be used on one color!

I would appreciate some feedback on my game, since I haven't gotten much at the moment: https://itch.freezing.top/jam/game-off-2025/rate/4075824

Submitted

thanks. I played your game too. first, I'm not good a platformer so I can't give good comment on this genre game. second, I get the idea that your weapon get useable/not useable based on the bar above, it is unique. But I'm not sure if it is a good idea by just adding this. Maybe more mechanic needed based on this change, currently it feels .. not that fun.

my game jam entry

or this

my game page

Very interesting, really nice graphic and very cozy to play :) The animations are also well made.

The only suggestion I have as a nub game dev and a student is that u can add more level design, i.e. induce more change to a level and make it more dynamic.

Please give feed back on my game (prototype really) tysm.

Submitted

Hi I played your prototype, I think the idea of loot and run is a good mechanic but the game need several improvement, including adding a hp bar, a hint when all enemies not chasing you, explain what each item is used for. I also get confused why the flash. I assume if you don't use the flash on the enemy they should not chase you? but it seems they still try to chase me even in that case. Some times the enemy would move out of the wall too.

Submitted

yah true. The sound mode makes monsters more aggressive with a higher detection radius, while the great random flashy green wave, when touchin g the monster, is supposed to deactivate monster

Submitted

Excellent entry!

I liked the art, music, sound and gameplay. The idea was pretty unique too, even though it also felt familiar. I appriciated the tutorial, and the varitey of powers and enemies

The UI on my end was a bit problematic - the description of the color powers covered the board and made everything harder to see. There was similar issue in the powers list - at the end you have so many upgrades, and you do seem to need to swap between them to beat the final boss, and the list part was very small which made things difficult. The full screen button didn't work for me, so it made everything cramped.

I had lots of fun, enough to beat the game, which have healty amount of content. I stuggled on normal, and so I'm not sure I'm ready for hard mode yet :) My strategy at the end was to focus on my color with: swap tile to the color + increase damage when passing the color + boss -> minions + minions -> boss. I'm sure there are other strategies as well

This is our game if you want to try, we would love to hear feedback

interesting game! I haven't finished it yet but I think it is very polished.
I really like the music, fit the vibe very well.
The turn based tactic combined with a little action mini game performed very well, but I think, maybe adding more elements that are different to the game since the wave theme? say how the wave would affect the terrain or the gameplay? or there are some random things happen when you attack? I expected to see something more special in the game..(I just get the fourth teammate) If there are some new things like that in later levels, I'd suggest move it early. I feel it is a little slow after playing the first levels(well, might be I'm not that patient these days, with all the games that has faster paces, my bad :P)

And thanks for finish my game. I'm a little concern about the UI problem you mentioned - can you make a screen shot of that when you get time? thanks!

As for your game, I haven't met any noticeable bugs yet! well done!

Submitted

I'm not sure if it's a a bug, but the pink message the explain the powers cover lots of tiles - this also true for the tutrial messages

Thanks for playing our game! There are 2 bosses later down the line with a little more development, but I know we focused a lot on the story and polish, and maybe not enough on variety.. It's a good point.

Submitted

got it. It's not a bug but I can see it can be confusing. I'll think about it!

Submitted

I really enjoyed playing your game. As you said, you should definitely be proud of it! I left my comment on your submission page.

My game is The Last Wave.

The Last Wave is a mystery game heavily inspired by "Return of the Obra Dinn", blending deductive puzzle-solving with visual novel storytelling. You'll partner with a Saja (Korean grim reaper) to unravel mysteries of the deceased. The playtime is 20-30 minutes.

The game features a unique mechanic where you must match each dead soul's name, location, and wave to help them recover their identity.

If you're interested in my game, I'd love for you to give our game a try!

This is a lovely game, I normally not a big fan of narrative games in jam but this is a good one.

I like saja and I think he is handsome lol. I feel his shock expression kind of remind me of ace attorney, and I like it. I like how the story and the detective part in the game. It's not as heavy as return of the obra dinn for sure but has it's own difficulty and fun.

Some suggestions I think..

I can understand this is a story happen in korea so all the name are korean names, but I think it is a little hard for foreigner to remember the names during the game, especially remembering name is an important part in the game lol. I do appretiate for the culture explain of the name convention in Korea.

I think number of names  match character is not enough, so it's quite easy to crack the game by try all the combinations lol. I know it is not a correct way to play the game, but when it is easier that way, player might choose to do that and lose the important detective part of the game.

Another part I don't really enjoyed, is the wave mini game. first, the game itself is not challenging or fun, especially after play it for several times. second, I can not know which wave is who until I get to that wave and listen, so if I know A's name, I might need to try to get all waves and find out who is A, then match it, which is kind of annoying because, as I said, the wave mini game itself is not that fun.

These are just some of my inputs, overall this is a really great story and game, good job and I'd love to play more of it!

Submitted

Thank you so much for playing the game. This is really detailed and high-quality feedback!

I put a lot of my personal taste into Saja's character, so I'm really happy you liked him. I had no idea while making it, but it's funny how the game ended up with such a ace attorney vibe lol. I think it's probably because I love that detective game series just as much as Return of the Obra Dinn, so it must have influenced me a lot.

I really relate to all the feedback you've given. I'm seriously considering whether to officially release this game later, and if that happens, I'll try my best to incorporate your suggestions.

I want to keep the Korean names for the characters, so I'm thinking about changing them to names that are more familiar or easier to remember for English-speaking users (for example: Yuna, Eugene, Jay).

As for the wave mini-game, I deeply agree with you, and I've received similar feedback from other users as well. I'm considering making it more puzzle-like and fun, and improving it so that once you match a puzzle correctly, you don't have to do it again.

Once again, thank you so much for your helpful input!
