damn another pico 8 game. was a little unfair at times since things would spawn on it but fun overall !
The game concept is very interesting. It's fun and enjoyable to play.
The visuals, music, and the difficulty level really invoke that classic nostalgic arcade machine game feel, and the way you interpreted the loop mechanic makes the game difficult to put down!
Plain wonderful, quickly addictive, and a clever interpretation of the theme. Great job!

Fun game. It's really really hard. I wish a few more hearts spawned, or a few less obstacles, because I was treading water. Nice story though!
I had fun playing this game, it was simple but difficult and quickly sucked me into the gameplay loop. I enjoyed the music, it contributed nicely to the stressful gameplay. Reminded me of Tetris and Undertale while playing it. The pixel art was very cute and well done. The only thing it was missing was more instructions, it took me forever to realize I could use power ups.
Very creative for something so simple. I was a little confused at first cause I thought the little yellow things were pick ups and was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.
This was quite fun! I'm always happy to play a pico-8 game! there was a bug (i think), when I got about half the hearts needed all the bad things stopped spawning, I think it was also around when I used one of the [X] things at the same time as a [ ! ] explosion (so maybe that caused it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ), anyway, great game!
Pico8 is such a fun engine. Everything done in it looks so cute! Your game is pretty simple and has the potential to be engaging. However, I found the starts to be too overpowered. They spawned at a rate greater than the hearts, near the hearts and followed me to steal the hearts. So, it was nigh impossible to get enough hearts to win, at least i couldn’t. Other obstacles seemed fair. Overall, it is a cute and intuitive game which with a little balancing would feel a lot better. Great work!
After making this game, I definitely learned my lesson about balancing and playtesting, lol. From my observations, average person must spend at least 15-20 minutes to reach the end once, unfortunately not a perfect fit for the jam. Still, I am so glad to see that people enjoyed it anyway. So fun!!! Very satisfying loop and so easy to spend a long time playing it. It has that really nice balance of feeling like you're almost there, just to get set back after a slip up, but still feel like you can get back on track. Loved it! And the visuals and audio are *chef's kiss*
