This was my first time coding in Lua and Love2D, so it was definitely a challenge. I had fun, hope everyone had fun as well!

The atmosphere was really cute and beautiful — I really liked the art style you used and the animations, especially the way the enemies walk. You did a great job with the music and sound effects too, even if it was your first time producing them.

Well, since this was your first game in this language, I’d like to suggest a few ideas that could improve the gameplay based on what you’ve already created, as they would only require some code adaptation to implement new mechanics or forms of interaction.

The first idea to make the game more challenging is: enemies could walk to random points on the map. This would greatly increase the sense of danger and difficulty, as we might end up surrounded by crowds of opponents.

Another interesting point is a way to temporarily increase the character’s speed — maybe by using one of the resources we collect as fuel? I believe this would be implementable since you’re already able to control the speed variable, so I assume you could modify it temporarily too.

The controls were responsive, and for a first project of this kind, I’d say you did a great job. Once again, congratulations on that and good luck in the jam!

The gameplay loop of gathering and upgrading kept me hooked.

Controls felt smooth, and the game’s atmosphere was surprisingly immersive.
Loved the mix of mystery and exploration.
A promising start with a lot of potential

For a first game, definitely well done—complete with a working core game loop. Nicely done!

Of course, there’s room for some improvement, like making the enemies a bit more challenging, but visually it was okay and cute, and the SFX and audio were solid.

The theme of everything being a resource was also  present.

Nice job! 👍

Developer

thank you! and yep it couldve definitely used more time in the oven, will definitely improve over time with other games!

For a first ever project, I must say, you did a splendid job, especially in the art and music department (seriously, I loved the little robot <3)!! My criticism is that some prompts or an instruction tab in the settings could be added to enhance the experience, since there are many commands which the player wont easily remember. I liked the idea of the secret combo to find the [REDACTED], although I highly doubt that someone would figure this out without checking the game page. All of this aside, this is a solid entry with a lot of potential. Congratulations on your first project and keep it up, as you obviously have a lot of talent!!! <3

Developer

ah yes, the prompts were something i was trying to do on the last day and just with some bugs was not able to accomplish that! that sucked, but i learnt to put accessibility first in design as well. will keep in mind from now.

and yeah i agree the secret was a but tough without reading the store page. Thank you!

Congrats on your first time coding! And you did that alone.
My concern was when I forgot the commands, there was no way to look for it in the settings. Might be better to add that in the game or in the description

Developer

yep! absolutely. accessibility and general controls is something i need to work on to make it more intuitive. thank you!

Awesome game! I really enjoyed it—the visuals are beautiful, with unique sprites and a distinctive gameplay style. While the gameplay felt a bit basic at times, with no animations and short enemy range, those are things that can definitely be improved over time. I really love the core idea—it's creative and full of potential. Keep up the great work!

Developer

thank you! i will work on what you said in future projects for sure

The sprites were really cute and well made, and the overall game did relate to the theme but was very short and ntg much to do in particular but overall had fun playing it.

Developer

thank you, i agree the loop is kinda small. wish i added more types of ways to get oil and other enemies.

Fun game. I enjoyed it! I love the art too :) The enemies don't have much range so it wasn't too difficult but thats not a bad thing. Overall very good!

Developer

yeah i basically made the enemies only do damage on collision, which on handside should have been a range, ill keep that in mind. thank you for your kind words!

This was a fun little game. Art is good.

One creative thought was how one might've used even the ground and the green grass patches for the oil?

Maybe even the oil pump would run away and you might've to chase it.

Nice music too.

Developer

thats true! the game is really expandable to much more ideas, a few more object types and enemy types would've been cool! i'll think about putting more variety in future projects to make the gameplay interesting. thank you!

For you first time working with Love2D this is quite complete. The sound effects were nice as well as the camera movement when certain events happened. It was short but I enjoyed what I played

Developer

thank you! a lot of effort was still needed to be put and a lot more optimizing my code, but ill work on it!
