The negative point thing w granny is pretty funny! This is one of the more unique ideas in the jam for a sorting game. The sound n gameplay loop do get a lil repetitive after a bit, but in short sprints, this is a wonderful entry.
This is a pretty fun take on the theme. I liked the animation and was surprised that in the beginning, the Play button also acted like a tutorial. Overall the graphics and the style is pretty amazing.
I wish the energy meter would not hide the top grabber, but it's a minor one.
Had fun.
Super cool and unique idea! I like how you have to pass the items from the grabber on the bottom to the grabber on top! I also liked how you also made granny recyclable, it fits the theme and was pretty funny! I think this game could have great potential if you added levels or some sort of variety to spice up the gameplay! I really loved the art and the interactable main menu was really cool! Great job!
the arms mechanics are amazing! Very creative and feel smooth to use. The game could have more content and some more SFX too, but it has a very solid idea already. Great job!
Darkly hilarious and mechanically clever!
The physical menu interaction was a great surprise, and the moral dilemma hits hard once you realize Granny’s an option...
Fast-paced, absurd, and surprisingly tense — I laughed and winced at the same time.
Great jam entry with a twisted sense of humor
Funny idea—and being able to use Granny was a nice touch! 😄
The mechanical arms are definitely the eye-catcher of this game, especially how you use them right from the start menu.
The concept is solid and the execution is good, but could use also a bit more polish—like adding more sound effects, for example. A replay button on game over would also be a welcome addition.
This is a good foundation for further expansion and fun in future updates! 💪
Really loved the mechanics of the game using the robo hand to grab objects, even in the main menu. Interesting! Also the game feels very smooth and polished and gameplay was quite fun. Great work overall!
Dude- despite what the theme of this jam tells you. grannies are NOT a resource!
However! It's one of those games where you initially go like "oh, ok, nothing special" but then you try to go for the big points, and discover more depth! You can THROW the stuff! You can stack it one place, and then move a bunch more quickly!
Also- whenever a game shows me it's mechanics using the main menu- I just love it every time!
Presentation is ok. More sounds would be cool (like maybe something when you put a thing into a machine). Maybe a bit of graphical polish (bit of animation when the machine gets "fed", maybe a background image instead of a plain gray), but as it is it works. The IK on the claws (arms?) works cool though.
The gameplay is fun, fast, and gets better the more you play- gotta say, the fun factor is pretty high on this one!
There is one thing this game really needs. Online leaderboards! Games like this live on players comparing their scores.
Thanks so much for the review! I totally agree — more sound effects would really help bring things to life, especially when feeding the machine. Unfortunately, I just ran out of time on that front.
And yes, a scoreboard is definitely something this kind of game needs. I haven’t worked with any of the easy to implement leaderboard systems yet, so I skipped it for this jam, but it’s high on the list if I ever polish it up post-jam.
Really glad to hear you found the fun factor high — I honestly wasn’t sure how it would land, so that means a lot. And I’m happy you liked the way the tutorial is built into the menu — that was one of the small things I hoped would click with players. Thanks again for playing and for the thoughtful feedback!
GAMEPLAY: Great intro tutorial-not-tutorial. While the controls were interesting and tight, having to pass items between up to three claws was frustrating, especially when the floor opens up. dumping my items and kicking over my sandcastle. I ended up just seeing how many grannies I could kill before I ran out of energy--accidentally flinging one through the ceiling and into the machine.
VISUALS: Not the most stugging pixel art, but I was charmed nonetheless, especially on the mechanical parts. More diversity among the items would be great and fit the recycling theme.
SOUND: I like how ploinky the music is, but with that short a loop over this slow a game, it only adds to the frustration. Mechanical sound effects on the arms would be a good touch.
THEME: You put it best yourself. Even granny...
Noooo... granny!! That scream is just too funny :D:D Firstly i wonder whose twisted mind this idea came from :D Its a very simple but well implemented gameplay loop with a good mechanic of grabbing and dropping. It felt a bit awkward at first, but when i got used to it, it was pretty smooth. The artstyle is also very cute and fits the topic of the game. The gameplay and overall concept also fit into the theme very well. I would have liked to see some more variation in the objects and maybe some tradeoffs like larger objects which are more difficult to lift but also give more energy etc. The granny screaming effect is really awesome and funny, but apart from that theres not many sound effects. I think even if you add a couple more it would really make it a lot more fun and responsive! But overall really had fun playing, and really well done!
Thank you so much. I'm really glad the granny scream made you laugh, that was actually one of the first things I added, and it kind of set the tone for the rest of the project. You're absolutely right about the sound effects. I ran out of time near the end and couldn't quite find the right sounds for things like the grinding and grabbing. It's definitely something I'd like to improve in the future.
Yeah, I was actually thinking about adding larger objects that you'd have to break down into smaller parts, or even the ability to grind the hand or the grinder itself. But yeah, time got the better of me. And for the object variety — honestly, I thought I'd have time to draw more of them. They only take about five minutes each, so I left that for the end and, well... didn't get to it.
Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback, and best of luck with your own submission! Really appreciate you taking the time to play and comment!!!
The arm moves in a cool way, and while I was confused in the beginning, I like how don't click on play, but actually use the arm to put it in the thingy to start. Feels immersive though it wasn't really very challenging. Especially since the granny gives so much power.
Thanks for the review! Yeah, I am really proud of the hand movement. Not gonna lie, i wasted almost a full day of jam just because i was distracted by the arm, i just played with it.
Anyway, thanks again! And Good Luck!!!
I am stuck on title screen
Hi, sorry for not providing the clear tutorial. You need to grab the play button with the arm and drop into the grinder to start.
