This was a fun combo concept: fishing with a shooter inside! 🎣🔫

It was enjoyable to play and a creative idea. I wasn’t very good at the shooter part at the higher levels, but with some persistence I managed to keep progressing.

Visually, the game had its own distinct look and style. The audio had a nice, relaxing vibe that fit the fishing part well, and picked up with a beat when things got intense, nice!

Controls felt good, and the theme was present—check ✅

Fun, unique and solid jam entry. Well done! 🙌

I really loved the bullet hell mechanic for fishing! It was really unique and I was not expecting it! I had a really fun time playing! The upgrades felt really nice and I loved all the art and animation. There were a few issues with y-sorting but it wasn't too bad. I do feel like progression is a bit unbalanced. The player is given way too many upgrade slots. Halfway through the game I became completely OP and by the end of the game I could kill all of the boss fish in less than 0.5 seconds. I was stacking a bunch of size, speed, and bounce upgrades, and some bullets would get so big that they covered the entire map. Overall though, I had a really fun time playing, keep up the good work!

Cool game, loved the artstyle, first time ever seeing bullet hell mechanics in a fishing game but the upgrades have too punishing debuffs and i struggled a lot to beat area 2

I like the concept game a lot, really liked the art and smooth animations. I think it the UI is little overwhelming so simpler UI might help. Great work making this! :)

Hey MacDudeDude and banado,

The Artstyle reminded me a bit of hyper light drifter mixed with the gameplay of undertale.

The gameloop is amazing and fun! The combat feels good and very polished, everything has small animations. The progression is nicely paced.

The UI is unfortunately not widescreen optimized and generally my only gripe about your game, the UI does not feel very intuitive. I lik ethe overall design of it, but when you hit TAB  you're just visually overloaded. I like that you split up the Tabs on the right between Upgrade, Shop and Rod, but it took me a while to even see it as it didn't stick out.

The graphics are very good, the style feels mostly consistent and fitting to your game.

All in all a very good game! Good job :)

GAMEPLAY: I was hoping the TV would give me a bouncy, static-ridden tutorial, but not so. I threw my line out, waiting to see what'd happen, and literally went slack-jawed when the fishing game turned out to be a shooter. Pleasant surprise, and it got me excited to see where else it'd go. Wouldn't have known to hit tab without reading the description. There were occasions where my bobber landed above me when I aimed below, or when it left the map entirely, but it largely worked as intended.

VISUALS: Not many games start with letterboxing, I'll say that much, though given how the ocean texture stops, that might be an issue with my resolution (recurring theme this jam, huh?). The pixel art looks good, but seems a little inconsistent with its lining and shading style. I quite like the tab UI--creative without being overwhelming, and gives me all the info I need (especially that preview). Excellent line and bobber animations, I'm impressed!

AUDIO: Very fitting music, cutting gun sounds. I'd like a little 'triumph' jingle when I hold a fish in the air, but what you have in FX is very nice. The different music cues for different fish help me know what I'm getting into before the fish start shooting, which I do appreciate.

THEME: Breaking fish down into component parts does help sell things, but surely I could've scavenged the guy's dead body, no? Barring desecration, "using every part of the fish" fits well enough.

I've kept playing through the game, it's remarkably fun. I'm also surprised how many fish variants you got in here--circular arenas, bouncing bullets, HUGE bullets. Swarm encounters helped the pacing of the game, and kept things interesting after seeing all an area had to offer. I'm terrible at aiming, so the early game was rough, but Fang and Green Bag help alleviate my troubles. I was going to say I was tired of rods until I got to the Dish. That's a good Dish.

Couple minor notes: the "magenta" tag on the Glass Horseshoe and Shotgun Shells doesn't work, the rods in Rod Fields have layering issues with the shadows, Coffee Beans just say 'Speed' (I laughed even if it wasn't a joke)

I don't know if that easter egg was worth the effort, but it did get a smile out of me.

I eventually did have to take off some upgrades because I started to break things. The bullets got so big, we went into seconds-per-frame territory.

Omg Thank you so much for playing so much. The feedback means a lot!

That guitar soundtrack is so clean. Reeling in a fishing game is always the least fun/most repetitive part which you have addressed in a unique way.  The isometric artstyle works really well perhaps try some different typography to better match it.  Good job!

The art style is beautiful, everything looks amazing, the gameplay is very fun and addictive I like that if you “lose” you don't die you just don't catch the fish, the atmosphere is amazing the whole game is very beautiful and fun. Definitely a winner, best of luck!

Really fun game. All of the animations feel so smooth and satisfying.

Nice concept of combining bullet hell and fishing but for some reason I now am on some sort of boss that I keep losing to because I cant get upgrades and it never gives me something else so I am kind of soft locked

Thank you so much for playing .  This on us for not making it obvious that there are easy fishing spot and harder fishing spot in the same area. Thanks for the feed back !
