Nice concept and idea for the game and cool in 3D. β˜ΊοΈ

It was fun to play and craft al the weapons and fight, but could be a little bit more polished by itself, the crafting.
Cool story and the graphics and audio also fine and fitting for the game. I noticed the audio did not loop? Easy fix in a future update of course.

This prototype is a solid base to possible build upon in the future.

All in all..a solid jam entry. Keep it going like this πŸ’ͺ

The idea is great — making trash weapons is fun, but the crafting system feels messy and hard to grasp at first. Items fall off, combinations confuse, and feedback is vague.
UI scaling is rough, and yeah... the sound volume? Absolutely brutal on the ears :(

Im not sure if the final boss is killable, but still the rest of the game is so much fun! Combining weird stuff to create weapons was an amazing idea!

My first thought was "Saw" vibes, but like make it cute! I think the idea was fun and fit the theme of the jam.

Keep it up!

I really like the basic idea of craftable weapons and it being a 3D game. But everything was a bit hard to understand  / weird like how you are supposed to make a combination of things and then drag it off screen to the right to turn it into a gun. Often things fell behind the table. Many combinations just gave "burning thing". In one stage I made these super weak pacifier-bees. Other times I just stood somewhere and spammed my whatever bouncing or target seeking bullets until everything died.

The UI was super small on my 4k screen which is rather typical for Godot... Maybe there should be ARPG like stats that show you stats for whatever thing that you created so that you have an idea how strong something is and what it does.

The idea of being able to make your own weapon is really cool! I also like the storyline of the game! There were a few tricky things about the game though. The first is that some guns are just terrible and there's no way to go back and try to make a better gun. Second, there's no way to aim at enemies while running away from them. You have to run towards them so the the character faces them so that you can shoot them. Also the mouse is not locked to the center of the screen which makes the camera movement controls difficult deal with. I did, however, really like the music and art style of the game! They add great aesthetic to the game! Overall, this game was fun and has a lot of potential, well done!

hi ! you can test the weapon immediately after you made it, in the same room as ingridients (dummies are for that purpose), i agree with the rest of the points though, thank you for the review !

I really liked the idea of the game, and I also want to mention the visuals, as they look very nice and complete, and the music is pleasing to the ears. Now let's move on to the disadvantages. The controls are not very convenient, and the main reason for this is the 3rd person camera view and the shooting mechanics. It would have been better to either adjust the camera so that it always follows the player from the same position, or to make it more convenient, but in this case, it would have been helpful to add a scope. However, overall, the game is great!

I liked your take on the subject- manufacturing guns with wierd stuff at hand was a nice idea! I liked the game, but have some pointers.

Camera controls were a bit imprecise, but this wasn't a problem, once I started making bee-based guns.

On my monitor the text was tiny! Not a huge problem- still readable.

I died a couple of times at the start, but once I got the hang of the game, I started to enjoy it more!

Is it just me or the first level was actually the longest?

Over all- pretty good game! Keep it up!

I love the idea of manufacturing multiple items together to make a different type of gun even if the gun model is always the same no matter which items were used.

I was able to make it to the final boss level but cannot defeat him because there are always infinite minions spawning and also these minions would always hit me and sometimes I can't kill them unless if I move the character around to face the minions.

GAMEPLAY: It took a while for the game to take control of my pointer, which is an issue I've never seen before. While the smithing segment went off without a hitch, the halls lagged like hell (seemed to be largely the enemies' fault as it cleared up the further I went). The tight corridors and awkward controls made it difficult to see where I was shooting--perhaps one-way walls or a translucency on models close to the camera. I should've expected it to take a lot of bees to kill a man, so my bad. I didn't think they could block a doorway, though.

VISUALS: The models are cute, clean, and have a cohesive theme across them. Animations are smooth and fit the atmosphere. Good work!

SOUND: The tune was great, but it didn't loop. I spent my gun-smithing time in silence. Seems an easy fix.

THEME: While not quite 'everything', resourcefulness being a dominant theme still gets a point in my book. Perhaps a stronger approach would have you finding the items in the room before assembly, though that may have overscoped things.

hi, thank you for the review ! the corridor levels are lagging due to web version using the cpu, if cpu is not very powerful the game will lag (i reduced the number of enemies to the least amount needed for the game to not lag on my pc, and reducing them further would make game way too easy), also audio is not looping on the first scene of the game is also an issue that i noticed immediately, but it's only present in the web build, i double checked all audio players and they were all set to loop, and windows/linux build didn't have this bug so that kinda sucked D:

Looks nice.

Pretty cool entry! My favorite bits of this are the lore, the gradient styles on the models (nice job blending your own assets and premade assets, I would have assumed they all came from the same place, very nice job!) and the music (and I know bangers). I like the idea of a startup villain company that only obtains resources from stealing from factories, It kept me engaged with the flavor text! Very aesthetically pleasing. However, I feel the execution can be added upon:

Finnicky gun configuration - The gun is created on my first or second ability chunk (though the sign says to put 3), and it was somewhat difficult fitting some of the parts in the gun making machine (but I can also see how that's the point- especially in the anvil's case)!

Gun Effect Variety:  I feel mechanically the guns are very similar. They all blow up in some capacity with different visual particle effects (Though I won't lie-explosions are satisfying). I feel like out of the options I was given, the bee one stood out to me because I noticed the distinct separate ability of having the projectiles hone in on enemies.

Camera- I actually am a fan of third person cameras. I just feel  it necessary to bind a button or way to lock your shooting direction while moving.

Other than that, I found myself spamming the explosive homing projectiles at the start of the last 2-3ish levels im sorry (not sorry) (Bee is goated) (Hire bakugo to make you guns) (Get cheesed) (Bee mechanic, goated again )

Developer

thank you ! :D im glad you appreciated the  work i put in the assets ! i totally agree with that the camera should've been locked ( made levels  in the last few days and haven't realized small corridors don't suit the player controls i have) and for the parts not being able to combine past 1 - due to drag and drop system and due to collisions on objects they can roll around and combine accidentally, you can also drop an object too close to another one and they both would combine and it's easy to not notice that you've already used all parts for the gun , so i added a restart table button in hope to ease the frustration πŸ˜…. in addition to the bee, pacifer also has a unique ability - bouncing like crazy. thank you very much for the detailed review !

Submitted(+1)

Ahhh okay so thats what that was (the pacifier effect)! Also the collision thing is REAL I was dealing with instances of that on my entry as well right until the last hour (mind you after a gracious extension lmao)

Loved this one! The crafting system is really cool and the combat was fun. A little difficult to control but all round a great game once you get used to it

A great job :) Probably a winner

I like the concept of the game, it feels nice and figuring it out was fun! The little narrative was cute too πŸ”«

Submitted(+1)

a really neat concept. it could possibly be nice if there was something to hint what object do. you might need to also look at how the cursor and mouse are acting up when playing the web version.

I really loved the game idea parallel to the theme and the 3D graphics is just amazing, It just looked awesome and I made it upto the boss but was not able to go after that, I would say Game is great in graphics and theme but for gameplay, I think it can be improved overtime and made more interesting.

Submitted(+1)

Great Game and concept, just one suggestion i have is to add feeedback for when the player is hit as i was getting hit without noticing it

Hey STRUM,

First of all, I love the art style! Good job. And also props for using Godot with 3D! I played through your game and one thing that jumped into my eye immediately was that I really wished you would have made that tutorial interactive instead of a narrative. Being able to move the things around and already play with them made me (involuntarily) ignore the dialogue that was going on below. If you used outlines and explained the process once in a way where the player is walked through it, it would've worked more intuitively I think. Its also hard to hit the opening gap of the gun machine, this almost caused me not to play your game simply because I didn't understand how the crafting works.

I love the transition then from something what feels more like a narrative/crafting game over to a shooter!

Once you unlock the gun it gets hard to aim in the small corridors because the player is in the centre and overlapping the enemy while you're trying to look at them. You should've moved the camera a little to the left/right or transitioned to a closer shoulder view.

The end screen was cute!

Overall a very good job. If you give this game some more polish I think it would really really shine!

thank you !
