How does your game fit the theme?
You can pick up nearly any object in the city and sell it. This means every object is a resource for the player.
Easter Egg Challenge
First you need to pick up the dynamite that is in the market in the center of the city. Then you need to go to the top-right of the city where you will find a sketchy looking wall with a barely visible dynamite detonation stand. Walk up to the detonation stand to destroy the sketchy wall and follow the arrows down the now exposed road. What lies beyond the city?

This is my first time working with someone else on a game jam, and it was really awesome and fun working with thehotdogman on it.

Very fun to play and very well implemented the theme of the jam, it feels very well built world and enjoy exploring it and is very replayable. Very good game! :D
Thanks!
it's satisfying to find an entry that fits the theme so well! And not just the theme, but everything about this game is on point! Finding the best items, usable items, finding the secret selling point... great job!!
Thanks!
This was way more fun than I expected!
Didn’t make it on the first try, but every run taught me a bit more — what to grab, what to ignore.
The “grab everything and sell” mechanic is simple but super satisfying, especially when you find those high-value items.
Fast-paced, chaotic in a good way, and really easy to get hooked on. Solid arcade-style challenge! :)
Thank you so much!
I had such a great time playing your game! The concept is incredibly well done, and everything — from the visuals to the mechanics — is just beautiful. I especially loved the item selection aspect; it adds so much depth and strategy, making the experience even more engaging. This game has huge potential — honestly, I can't even imagine how far it could go. Congratulations on such an amazing project! Please keep working toward a full release — it's fantastic.
Thanks you! Unfortunately this will probably be the final release without any more updates. However, you can feel free to take inspiration from my game and expand on it if you'd like to!
This is awesome! I love how the dynamite had multiple uses, and how it's easter egg use restructured the context of the entire game. It was nice connecting the dots on how to use which special item, and seeing what exactly was valuable. Nice interpretation on the theme as well! I like the effect of the music getting more intense as you go, but the instrumentation on the riffs does get a little granular (It would be cool to experiment with different instruments). This is a really cool entry!
Thanks for the feedback!
Super fun, distilled gameplay experience in a short run format. Well done on scope as well as aesthetics. We think you hit the theme spot on!
We really enjoyed the SFX and soundtrack. The music getting more intense near the end definitely had the intended effect.
Also, the fact that the special items would be sold if not used was a neat way of having the player decide to pick them up or not until they knew how to use them.
Great job!
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed!
This was so fun to play!! The 3-minute window was just right to keep the game challenging and finally beating it after a couple of tries. It fits the theme really well! Also, I loved the music and how it sped up and the graphics were pretty nice!! Awesome job :D
Thanks!
Really enticing game!! Spent my first playthrough getting accustomed to the layout and figuring out how things worked, and managed to beat it on my second try!
I really enjoyed finding the special items and figuring out how to use them for the high paying items! None of them felt impossible to solve and overall the game just felt really balanced and well thought through! One feature I liked in particular was the music speeding up as the timer started running out, really gave me a sense of urgency and panic in the last few seconds!
The concept is also great! Love the creativity of it and how satisfying it feels to simply destroy a city and get paid for it!
Overall, really fun and balanced game! Great work! :D
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed! I’m surprised you were able to beat it on the second try (it usually takes people at least 3 tries)!
I played this short game multiple times and it has a perfect connection to the theme. The only problem I see is it is hard to understand what every special item is for.
Thanks for the feedback! As for the special items, look for a place where you could logically use the item. Then walk up to it and the item will automatically be used.
The 3-minute time window is just right, kept me entertained throughout, I was surprised by what kind of things you could steal, the music getting faster towards the end is a nice touch too, great work :)
Thanks! The theme was "everything is a resource" not "everything that makes sense is a resource" 😅. I'm really happy with the way the game turned out!
Great game, love the exploration/sandbox-y feel of the game, it fits a lot with the theme and i loved being like:wait you can sell trees?!
😂 thanks!
I think if there is a specific feeling the games from this jam should envoke, it's the one I felt when I realized "oh crap! you can sell a tree!". Sir- this is what I whated from this jam, and you delivered.
The 3 minut limit was perfect. First playthrough, you just learn the rules, maybe discover a thing that would be helpful. Second- you see where the expensive stuff is, and maybe have vague plan. Third- you go for it! Blow up the bank, dig up the park! Sell the fountains, and the skeletons!
Good work!
Thanks! I’m really glad you had fun picking up random objects that don’t make sense! When I was making the game, I actually was intending for it to take about 3 attempts to complete! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
An awesome innovation and assets, The idea of Rush to Riches is very good, Audio was nice and the gameplay was the best.
One simple suggestions is to make things clear as I was not able to understand some objects( so didn't knew the value of what I have picked) and try using the word Everything.
But overall I enjoyed the game and played it multiple times. 😊😊
I'm glad you enjoyed!
This is a really good game, with a lot of variety in gameplay, really well done :) I managed to get 2500 in my first run, but i will try more later fir 10000 :) The controls feel really smooth and the tutorial was short and easy. The loop itself is fun with a clear goal and the perfect amount of time. I liked how the music increased in tempo towards the end, that was a nice touch :) Overall great job!
hey man thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed the game!
Thank you! thehotdogman did a great job with the music!
Super fun and creative! This is a really cool concept and creative. One thing that you mastered with the game is replayability, which is extremely important to have in video games. I felt like, after playing one round, that I had a better sense of how the game worked and that made me want to try again and get a higher score. This sense of discovery is perfected really well throughout this game. When I found the golden skeleton after aimlessly picking up near-valueless items, it encouraged me to keep going.
It was super fun adventuring around the city and figuring out a strategy to pick up the most valuable items, and the overall gameplay experience was really engaging and unique.
The art style was also super consistent and fit the game's vibe well. Everything worked smoothly, and the animations were very professional too. Nice!
I don't have many suggestions, but maybe some form of progression or upgradability to enhance the strategy aspect even more? Consider allowing the player to trade some of their hard-earned cash for a strategic backpack size upgrade or a speed boost - the possibilities are endless.
Rich in personality and potential, and quite a fun gameplay experience, wonderful job!
Thank you! I tried to keep the scope small so that I could finish on time, but your suggestions are great!
GAMEPLAY: The controls were a bit slippery, but ultimately responsive. I found it upsetting when I picked up a special item only to have to sell it, but I imagine giving options on what to sell would just slow the game down. Still, a separate tab for specials would be nice. Roaming the city was quite fun, even if most of the buildings were duds. I now know a human skeleton is worth about $750.
VISUALS: Nothing particularly stand-out, but still effective. There were a bunch of quality-of-life traits, like building transparency and sell areas, that did a lot for improving the game.
AUDIO: I love a good ka-ching, it has to be said. The music splits the difference between 'tense' and 'laid-back', and I think it gets on the good side of both.
THEME: Something feels off about this being counted as a 'resource', but with how 'everything' it is (even fountains fitting in my pockets), it gets a good grade regardless.
hey man, im glad to hear the music is were i wanted it to be
Thank you for such informative feedback! Also I'm glad you had a good laugh about picking up skeletons and an entire fountain!
Love the idea, it was really fun to play, great work!
Thanks!
Good job Mechanical Duck! Its a cool idea and works surprisingly well. You have thought of small quality of life improvements like the map, or selling without having to press a button, outlines etc. already which is great! I understand the reason for the limitation on the backpack, but maybe giving an option to upgrade it somehow would be great to give some feeling of progression.
Overall good job! :)
Thanks for the feedback! Upgrades would have been a great idea, but I don't think I would have had enough time to implement them.
Really fun game! I like how quickly inventory and time even become a type of resource, the game is very polished with the colored money-indicator-things and the park map, and the tutorial was quick and useful.
Thank you!
Amazing art, amazing music, amazing gameplay. It also fits the theme perfectly since you can literally pick up everything. The easter egg was also really fun to find. All I say it would need is a bit of randomization and it would turn into a really good roguelike! Nice work!!
Thanks! I hadn't really thought of it being more rougelike-ish, but that could certainly be a cool idea!
